iPhone 5 marketing experiment – gadgets update

It’s been another busy week in preparation for my iPhone 5 experiment with more gadgets arriving in the post; it almost feels like Christmas has come early.

The people at thehealthybackpack kindly got in touch and sent me the new Earth DNA Pack bag.

The bag is made of state of the art recycled materials which is really cool and even has a headphone socket for my iPhone.  I think this will be great for keeping some of my more valuable gadgets in.

The strap even has shock absorbent gel for added comfort.  I will be doing a test of this bag when camping outside the Apple shop and will post a hands on review.

I was also sent a couple of bags of Ecoforce clothes pegs which I’m sure they will come in useful during my trip!

I’ve got to hang my boxer shorts up somewhere :)

WowWee are going to send me a Paper Jamz guitar to help keep myself entertained.

Apparently there are no strings and anyone can play them.  Maybe I can busk outside the Apple shop and put any money I make into a charity fund..

Energizer have kindly offered to send me out a head torch and some batteries which I will be able to use to power the guitar.

Dominos pizza are kindly going to deliver some piping hot pizzas to my makeshift camp which will be cool.

I’m going to end up putting weight on at this rate with all the kind offers of food so I thinking with all the sitting about and eating I could do with a way to exercise.
So I contacted Colin Mortley, a personal trainer from a fitness company called CDM fitness Colin has volunteered his time to come down and help me stay in shape with a couple of personal training sessions.  I’m sure this will turn a few heads.
Colin will be impressed as I’ve even managed to arrange Innocent drinks to come down and deliver some smoothies and juices to make sure I’m still getting my five a day.

You may be thinking I’m being vein, but Katie Kendrick a west end hairdresser has even offered to give me a brand new haircut from my camp chair outside the Apple store.  I want to look my best for the photographers :) .

One item I’m in desperate need for is a tent.  Please, if you know any companies who would like to donate or even lend me a tent to use get in touch.  Thousands of passers by and a lot of media coverage has already been lined up which will be great exposure for the company who can help me out.  After all it’s going to be my home for a good few days.

A lot of friends and family said to me that I wouldn’t be able to pull this experiment off and generate any interest from companies, but it just goes to show how much indirect marketing draw Apple really has.

My next post will be a list of everything which has been donated so far to the iPhone 5 experiment.

If you have any gadgets, products or services feel free to drop me an email at robshoesmith81@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

I will leave you with a link to an article from techcritic who reported about my experiment last week which can be found here.

Best,

Rob Shoesmith
